Creative Professionals Can Now Apply for
NJ Creatives Network Membership Quickly and Easily on the Web
New online process makes applying faster and simpler than ever
[June 22, 2006] – Paramus, NJ – NJ Creatives Network, New Jersey’s
premier organization of creative professionals, now makes it easier and
simpler than ever for creative professionals to join the organization.
Writers, designers of print and Web media, illustrators, photographers,
video producers, public relations specialists and others who want to
energize their careers with the power of networking and professional
relationship-building can now apply at any convenient time through the
NJ Creatives Network Web site at
www.njcreatives.org/membership/membership.htm.
“Applying online is a technical breakthrough for the organization,” said
Stan Cohen, NJ Creatives President. “There’s just a simple form to fill
out,” Cohen explained, “plus an agreement to abide by the NJ Creatives
Network Code of Ethics – the document that all our members sign,
pledging to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in all our
work.”
“Paying is simple, too,” Cohen added. “Applicants can pay the $25.00
application fee through PayPal® or by credit card. It’s never been
easier to take advantage of the range of exceptional educational,
professional development, business-building and relationship-building
services and benefits that NJ Creatives Network offers for professionals
working in the various creative disciplines throughout New Jersey.”
NJ Creatives Network Reaches Throughout the U.S.
As its influence has grown, NJ Creatives Network has attracted members
from an increasingly large number of U.S. states. Current membership
includes creative professionals in Maine, Florida, Pennsylvania,
California and Michigan, as well as New York and New Jersey. “Members
from beyond our area express interest in building ties to the New York
Metro market,” president Stan Cohen said. “With our new
online
application capability, we expect that NJ Creatives Network will reach
professionals in more and more U.S. markets,” Cohen added.
A Brief History of the NJ Creatives Network
The organization began in 1984, established by three freelance
professionals, and was named S.W.A.N, Inc. (Self-employed Writers and
Artists Network, Inc.). Now a successful non-profit organization that
boasts a diverse membership of talented professionals, NJ Creatives
Network provides members with a single resource where experienced
creative professionals can share ideas for running what is often a
one-person business.
The Benefits of NJ Creatives Network Membership
Membership in NJ Creatives Network includes all these benefits:
- Monthly educational meetings, where expert speakers offer practical
advice on topics ranging from successfully negotiating contracts and the
latest techniques in new-business development, to practical suggestions
for organizing an office, marketing one’s work, and coping with the
stresses of the freelance lifestyle.
- A members-only online discussion group, for sharing ideas, requesting
help, asking advice, or just talking. Many members network with one
another by calling upon their expertise as needed. Members know that
other members can be depended upon to deliver the highest quality work
on time and on budget. In this way, referring and referred members
generate additional income with little marketing effort.
- Online Marketing and Business Development Support – The NJ Creatives
Network Web site -- http://njcreatives.org – receives an average of
15,000 unique visitors a month, thanks in part to a very high ranking in key search
engine result displays, such as those of Google™. NJCN members may
display an online portfolio of up to four work samples at the NJCN site.
Members with individual Web sites may have a link from the NJCN Web site
to their own.
- Marketing mailings – professional business-building e-mail
communications that publicize the services available through NJ Creatives Network to key decision makers throughout New Jersey and the
New York Metro area.
- Referral Service – Six NJ Creatives Network referral specialists (one
for each of the organization’s professional disciplines) can provide
potential clients with the names of NJCN professionals whose talents and
services best suit their needs. Potential clients can also contact
members directly or can review the portfolios of members who may suit
their needs. Since NJCN is a network - not an agency – potential clients
are under no obligation, and there are no referral fees.
- Summer Picnic – A much-anticipated annual opportunity to meet, eat,
relax and enjoy the company of other NJ Creatives Network members.
For the creative professional looking for new ideas in services
marketing, or a network to help reach new clients, or for those who want
to find higher-quality clients and higher-paying work, NJ Creatives
network has the people, the contacts, the skills and the experience to
help reach important business and personal goals.
How Online Marketing Has Helped NJ Creatives Network Members Develop
Local, Out-of-Town and Out-of State Business
The 15,000 monthly “unique visitors” at the NJCN Web site have played a critical
role in helping members acquire and develop new business, often from
out-of-town and out-of-state clients. Those seeking to hire creative
talent visit the NJCN Web site, view members’ online portfolio samples,
and click through to members’ individual Web sites. Often with few or
no face-to-face meetings, contracts are negotiated and secured, and work
is delivered and approved. Communications take place electronically.
Satisfied clients often become repeat clients for many NJ Creatives
Network members.
